Periods 3 & 5 Roaring Twenties' Party

OK, so I forgot to mention this:

We are having a Roaring Twenties' Party tomorrow (for third period) and Wednesday (for fifth period)!  You need to dress up AND bring something for the party.  Respond to this post by stating what you plan to bring.  Name it after a concept, theme, or character from the novel!

For ideas on how to dress, CLICK HERE.  Be sure to follow dress code :)

If you need to bring your items to my room in the morning, that's fine :)  Bring your book to turn in, or your money to replace it...and be ready for your quiz!

See you then.

  1. A bottle of soda would represent Tom. Rattle him a little bit and he'll be ready to blow.

  2. Ill bring two bottles of soda, Sprite and Pepsi to represent Tom and Gatsby, both very different yet have one thing in common...Daisy

  3. I will bring chips to demonstrate how on the exterior all the guests were strong and appeared to be complacent, when in reality they are emotional and weak as a human should be .

  4. Two different bags of chips & dip symbolizing the variety of people that would attend Gatsby's parties :)

  7. Bought a variety of chips to represent the difference of Gatsby before and after he reunited with his long lost love Daisy.

  8. I'll bring cookies to symbolize the characters in the Great Gatsby. Many ingredients make up a person, and each character has a distinct quality to separate them from the rest.

  9. im bringing ritz representing the new money that Gatsby is as he throws his party, since they are mainly used in more advanced reunions or parties! (makes sense to me :) )

  10. Bringing chips & dip. It symbolizes "old money" & "new money" & although they are characterized as very different in the book, they go together anyway, like chips & salsa :)

  11. I am taking Lays Cheddar and Sour Cream Chips to represent Gatsby's and Daisy's relationship. The Cheddar is to represent Gatsby's unconditional love and how he has loved Daisy from the beginning and wishes to relive the past, making it "cheesy," and the Sour Cream represents how their love has a sour touch to it because Daisy is married and can not be with Gatsby

  12. I'm bringing brownies to represent the traits of the characters. The brownies are sweet when you take the first bite, but five minutes after you're done then you won't taste the sweet. This is similar to the fast-changing emotions of the characters in the Great Gatsby.

  13. I'm bringing chocolate chip cookies and chewy Chips Ahoy cookies to represent Tom as the crunchy cookie because of his rough exterior and Wilson as the chewy cookie because he was always the friendly and soft character in TGG(except when he kills Gatsby of course)

  14. I'm bringing Oreos to represent Gatsby because on the outside you would think he's a dark tainted man because of rumors but in reality he is pure and innocently in love, which is the white of the Oreo.

  15. Orange soda to symbolize the whiskey in Gatsbys parties; one of the reasons why they were so great.
    .
    .
Lazaro's bringing Donuts to symbolize the wheels in the yellow car that led to Gatsbys death.

  16. I'm bringing two bottles 7up and Sunkist. Sunkist to resemble the ongoing heat and the tension between Gatsby and Tom. The 7up is the autumn air, the after affect of all the tension.

  17. I'm bring a bottle of soda to represent the character's "fizz" because if shaken up they can and will blow up.

  18. I'm bringing Sunkist soda cans to represent Gatsby since his dreams are bright and immense like the sun yet the more he reflects on those dreams the more it seems his life takes an opposite curb. His life or "can" container appears to only get emptier. Although Daisy enters at a time, she never offers him anything solid so the "drink" stands at a stop until she disappears and depletes him of content, til his death like an empty crushed can.

  19. I'm bringing oreos to represent the contrasting personalities in the book. You have Nick the"honest" man, who really cares who is the white versus everyone else who he is surrounded by who is the black two faced, gossiping people.

  20. I'm bringing cups to represent Gatsby, he can do so much and have people around him making his party complete yet feel so empty inside Wothout Daisy.

  21. I'm bringing cake and chips to represent Daisy and how Gatsby believes she is so sweet yet has a salty side as well that he does not notice -Liana
